Brian Glackin is an accomplished government relations executive with a deep understanding of both the Executive and Legislative Branches. He has well developed relationships and comprehensive experience in appropriations and authorizations matters on both sides of Capitol Hill and within the Department of Defense and other Federal Agencies.
Mr. Glackin's experience includes management of a corporate Washington DC operations office and direction of diverse federal government relations and business development activities.
He served as Senior Vice President at SICPA Product Security where he was responsible for Corporate Development (strategy and M&A), Business Development and Government Relations. In this role, he established a Washington, D.C. presence for SICPA and developed a strategy to launch the company into new federal markets with new products and solutions.
From 2008 – 2015, Mr. Glackin served as Vice President of Government Relations at Cobham PLC, a multi-billion dollar global defense and aerospace company, where he and his team were responsible for maintaining effective relations between the company and the Executive and Legislative branches of the U.S. government. He was responsible for the formulation and execution of the company's executive and legislative branch strategies to support corporate goal and for maintaining senior relationships with Cobham's industry customers and partners.
Mr. Glackin joined Cobham as a Corporate Vice President in 2008 from DRS Technologies where he was Vice President for Maritime and Homeland Security government relations. He is a retired Navy Captain who served most of his career aboard various aircraft carriers flying the EA-6B Prowler. His last assignment with the Navy was as the Deputy Director of the Navy Appropriations Matters office where he was responsible for coordinating the Navy's budget with Capitol Hill.
He earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University where he was enrolled in the Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) and his Master's degree from the University of Paris Sorbonne (Paris IV). He also received a diploma from the French Joint Defense University and is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Seminar XXI politics and policy program. He serves on the NDIA Washington Chapter Board of Directors, and the Air Force Association, Nation's Capitol Chapter Board of Directors.
